I have the book but haven't read it yet. I tried starting it a few years ago, but never got into it. I'm going to give it another try once I finish the book I'm reading now.
Quite a few of R. A. Salvatore's stories have alternating stories that tie in at the end. He's also a very good fight scene writer.
Sea of Swords is actually "book 14" in a "series". I put quotes because the series is in sections that you can read without having read the rest of the series. The sections are the Dark Elf Trilogy, Icewind Dale Trilogy, Legacy of the Drow, Paths of Darkness (Sea of Swords is book 4 of 4 in that one), and the last book in The Hunters Blade Trilogy ("book 17"😉 is due out later this year. The sections I stated go in order of events in the books. Some things make more sense if you follow this order.
