hey, whazzup!
just looking at the few pages and post..and man.. you guys really like to bash..
anyway 50 cent is one of the people i have no problem listening to.
i ve been listening to rap since i was 11 years old, now i m 21 and still listen to rap music...but not these new rappers that are watered down.
50, on the other hand...is more of a real gangsta in a long time...all these rappers that pop up from around the country are mainly singing about "bitches and whores", "money and bling"...the same music made popular by:
NWA,
Bone thugz N harmony
Ice Cube
Dr. Dre
Eazy-E...(rip)
2pac...(rip)
Biggie..(rip)
you can slice it anyway and anyhow with these rappers...some come from the real ghettos with real problems. and some come up just to make a few Grand.
50, is one of the few real gangsta from the street.
his real name is: Curtis Jackson Brown..

Thats true, 50 did come from the so called 'ghetto' background, but that doesn't make him better than rappers who didn't. It takes a special kind of artist to come from that kind of violent, mysoginistic background and actually produce meaningful, intelligent lyrics, and clearly, 50 isn't special. He raps about the same shit every other so called 'gangsta' does. The fact he is so popular now is a combination of luck, good connections and a very disturbing gimmick.
If you want a real example of a 'gangsta' turned good, look no further than Ice Cube. His lyrics were rooted in issues such as racism, politics, police brutality and even domestic problems. I'm glad to see you listed him up there, but I'm suprised that someone who can obviously appreciate good hi-hop music like yourself can like 50 Cent, who's idea of good lyrics is to give people a detailed narrative of three of his daily activities: pimping ho's, smoking drugs and shooting people.
To put it bluntly, 50 Cent is really nothing less than an ignoramous.
I don't mind rap when it has a message, or a decent bass, but what is the point of 'Pop that Booty' or 'Guns don't kill people, rappers do'? ((don't waste my time by going on abt how they're not by 50 cent, I do not know whether they are by him, and I really don't care.)) My point is, I have never, nor will ever 'pop' my booty, and I usually find guns kill people pretty dead.
Amen, Phoe ✅
The main reason I don't like rap is just cause there is no talent involved in it (no singing...all they do is rhyme words...anyone can do that. and the only music they have is a really loud bass) and they always rap about really stupid stuff, like women's asses. Don't they realize that some women are offended by that? That's all I ever hear in rap songs is crap about butts and the "bleaping" of all the freaking cussing they do just to make it look like they're cool 😕 And 50 Cent is no different.

OH FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!
Sorry its just i'm sick of people who have no experience of hip-hop putting rappers down as talentless. I really don't want to sound rude, but anyone who calls hip-hop 'rap' is automatically proving their ignorance of it. Rappers on the radio and TV such as 50 Cent maybe talentless hacks, but I consider myself pretty experienced musically, and I have heard some of the most powerful, intelligent, issue-adressing, thoughtful, philosophical, witty and sincere lyrics I have ever come across in hip-hop. Please don't judge a genre when you haven't even scratched its surface 😬
@ Deathblow - I don't deny that some rappers have talent. One of my best mates is very talented, and can rap spontaneously about the first thing he sees or thinks of with no preparation.
50 Cent is not like this, nor are many other rappers. They are merely faces for a songwriter, treating women as objects.
Yeah I know, I wasn't directing my post at you 🙂
I completely agree with what you say about 50 Cent, as I posted in this thread earlier today: 'how on earth can anyone enjoy and relate to lyrics involving getting shot at by teenage street thugs, murdering people and treating women like worthless trash?'
Personally, I find 50 Cent nothing less than offensive.
