I bought both Namor books out. So far, great art and reasonably entertaining storyline.
I read New Avengers #32. I realise that writers try to put at the very least a small action scene in each issue to appeal to everyone. However I was disappointed by the plane scene that replaced the action. I couldn't wait to see an issue where the team wasn't fighting ninjas and I enjoyed the dialogue for the issue, but it was laking in action. Plus Dr Strange= very lame or a Skrull.
I read Green Arrow: Year One #1. I'm obviously bias as a GA fan but I thought the issue was pretty good. The art took a while to get into but I appreciated more as the issue went on. I thought the plot was well developed and fast paced for a first issue, and all around a fairly enjoyable read. I may regret buying the individual issues for this as it would make a really nice trade IMO.
I also bought Green Lantern #21. Overall a pretty good issue. Due to the stunning Sinestro Corps one shot, the issue has a lot to compare to. The art is beautiful, very sleek and smooth. The dialogue is pretty naff and boring. The plot moved at a much slower pace than Sinestro corps but was still reasonable enjoyable. I loved the trap Parallax was hiding in. I didn't love the part where Jordan recounts his father's death. Very cliche. Overall a good issue and I can't wait for the next!
I also bought two trades. I bought Green Lantern: No fear which collects issues #1-6 of the latest volume. I'm loving Ivan Reiss's art. The issue with a powerless Hal Jordan jumping out of a Jet onto a Manhunter was really exciting, I was on the edge of my seat. The later issues = very mediocre.
I also bought Daredevil: Father, in trade. I have only just started reading it. The plot is ok so far but Quesada's art isn't that great. I loved his art in Guardian Devil (Probably one of the best Daredevil story lines ever!) However Quesada's recent Daredevil is far too broad shouldered and always covered in shadow 😘
Overall some good issues this month. I'm still waiting for the next issue of Cap to come out. By far the best ongoing comic this year (If you can call it ongoing).
