I like some old skool. De La Soul, Run DMC and Grandmaster Flash are legends, and I like some of the old b boy stuff like The Pharcyde.
New gen is divided for me, I hate ALL gangsta rap (with exception of Ice Cube, Pac, old Nas & Mobb Deep) but I love hardcore hip hop nowadays such as Big L, Cunninlynguists, Sage Francis and The Alkaholiks etc.
i'm an older cat, therefore, i am always listening to old school s#!t - tribe, epmd, gangstarr, all the way back to sugar hill, utfo, and audio two. the only new s#!t that i listen to is post '99 underground hip hop. that is where the good stuff is - stones throw and anything that doom would post.
most of the mtv stuff is crap.
that is my opinion

Always great to see a Madsci post. They're rare, but much appreciated. He always speaks the truth and respects others opinions.
as much as i say shit to piss off some people (MF DOOM, you crack me up😉) i'd say old school, cos even if i dont like their music, i respect some of them for making something outa nothing. Ice T mostly cos he not only made a shit load of cash before hand but also has had a song banned by the FBI, something none of these new school "gangsta" rebles have gotten within spitting distance of doing
