First off, I never said warcloud wasn't hip-hop or wasn't "real" hip-hop. I've been listening to warcloud longer than you have Hockey, so I'm in no way saying he's bad or isn't hip-hop. I was saying that he DOESN'T belong on an elite list. What? He's being led by me? Led where? To what? That doesn't make sense. Whatsoever. All I've ever done is help Hockey find out about artists he never would have. I've suggested to him albums that he truly loves to this day. An example: I suggested that he get Organized Konfusion's "Stress: The Extinction Agenda". He did, and he absolutely loved it. It's a classic album. Hockey was just starting to get into non-mainstream hip-hop and I wanted him to hear one of hip-hop's greatest albums. And that's bad??? Helping him find great artists like MF Doom, MF Grimm, Organized Konfusion, Aesop Rock, John Smith, Brother Ali, ect is bad? In what way? If anything I saved him months of having to find artists on his own. I've given him lists of great artists in one post that would have taken him months to hear about. I've told him about great canadian music to listen to, something he wouldn't have gotten into because it's impossible to find here in the states. I don't see how help is bad.

Help isn't bad. Big difference to help and dependance though. You feed a baby coz it CAN'T feed itself. You're not giving Hockey music coz he CAN'T find it. He just never tried looking. So it's really his fault he doesn't know about them. I found out about those artists through looking.

That's not what helping is about. When I first got into Rock music heavily, I was INTRODUCED to alot of awesome bands and then it was my responsibility to go out and find stuff on my own. I wasn't being made to feel I had to listen to certain artists. You say your objective was to help him explore music right? Whether your intentions are good or not, all you're doing is giving him an even smaller musical area. More harm than good.
