Well, not to confuse, but....
The English word "assassin" is derived via French and Italian from the Arabic plural hashishiyyin (also quoted as hashashin) meaning "Takers Of Hash-Hish." During the Crusades, the Arabic warriors so-called ate hash-hish in order to become intoxicated - and then they murdered the leaders of the opposition!

I know people who are.
It has nothing to do with the drug per se, but with the euphoria associated with it. It becomes such a daily routine that they can't live without it. 🙁
