How strong is Superman?

Seriously we all have a different image of superman for the old to new age.

is this the man that can warp back in time if he wants? or the man who struggles to fly up with a crane.

ok i think this is the way i want you to reply. think of how you remeber superman either from the movies, comics, or the numerous tv shows (a feat) what is it that he does?

and what do you think his strength class is and how much does it sway throughout the comics and tv etc. we all know he's like the hulk in certain instances when he gets mad you better get out of his way.

Umm....I remember the time he used his powers to help him win a football game.

I think his original tagline was probably realistic. Then they kept bumping him up, unlike Captain America, Marvel's equivalent unbeatable, who kept his status as such by skillful writing.
