Well Green Goblin scared a few kids when I saw it in the theatre. Kids these days can't take anything. You get your 13 year old girls that see Emily Rose and scream every 5 seconds (and yes, there was a girl in front of me that screamed at literally NOTHING), you get your kids that cry hysterically at films like Monsters Inc., you get your kids that are scared at Batman Begins, and then you get your kids that are in elementary school, watching Saw and not being bothered at all besides possible nightmares later on in the evening.
Kids can't take anything anymore, just like adults. Some little pussy kid will cry if Chameleon is even in the movie, and some bitchy middle-aged women group will complain to the guild about how Hollywood doesn't fit peoples needs - then they'll bring up other topics that have nothing to do with it, like the anorexic/supermodel image thing that they constantly bring up yet dont' realize that all they have to do is THINK and the problem is solved....
Anyway I'm gonna cut myself short before I continue this rant...my point is...there are kids out there that want to see Venom cause he would look really badass...and there are kids out there that will cry if Peter's eyes widen in suspense at a door opening. I say, the problem is that people don't judge things correctly - if you make Venom in a SM movie, and you show Venom in the trailer, and a kid gets scared...don't take him or her to see the movie...get it?
