I am a matrix fan and have been reading a lot of forums and books on matrix. why is matrix interesting to us. because it answers our quest, the quest of mankind. we want to know

1. What is the purpose of life?
2. Is there a soul, if yes where it is?
3. What is consciousness, the unsolved mystery of science
4. who created this universe. Is it god, if yes what is god and where is god?

thats nice...but if this is a complete explanation to the movies...shouldn't you give an answer to each of those questions? Its nice n all that u like the movies...but reading about them is only one part...you should form your own answers to these questions rather than search for them in a book...
You're on the right track in doing the research, but dont forget that the matrix is about learning about oneself as well, and no book can tell you what you belive or understand, that comes from, to quote the oracle, "Know[ing] theyself," without knowing who you are, you can't answer any of the broader questions about life...

Thank you real. You are very correct. We have to find out our own answers. But we need some clue so that we can find the path. As morpheus tells he can show only the path, but neo has to walk through it. The book is only a path........you can read...but what you discover will take your whole life time. Neo was looking for an answer. Once he found then he found out for himself. same way...the book is an answer and from there we walk our own path.....but without an initial guidance we might be groping in darkness.

To know thyself....is the purpose of life. Using our finite body and mind and tap into consciousness , the infinite is the ultimate purpose of life. We are all living our lives as thinking machines. The moments we transcend our thoughts ...we see our real self.....

And that real self is the soul. That is consciosuness. This is what Neo discovers.

That which illuminates our awareness like a light is consciousness. Consciosuness is unchanign infinite, but awareness is changing, finite and dynamic.

4. who created this universe. Is it god, if yes what is god and where is god?

God is consciousness that is infinite and from consciousness comes this universe. Read a wonderful book by a physicist "self aware universe" who explains how everything emanates from consciousness. (Again dont be mad at me for quoting book....as i menioned earlier we need a guidnace and then we can climb up).

Matrix movies help us to answer all these questions by first....freeing the mind. Mind is a screen that prevents us from knowing the truth...consciosuness. We only think and keep thinking feeding the brain. But one time we have to trascend from thinking. Transcend does not mean to stop thinking....but as morphues tells Neo..... to look beyond.
