actually i've done the math. There's three versions of Agents as we know it.
FIRST: Cain and Abel
SECOND: Smith, Jones, and Brown
THIRD: Johnson, Jackson, and Thompson
Given the emotion level of Cain and Abel today, I say they were quick failures as Agents, so were only working for within one cycle of the Matrix. So that means they were only working in the second cycle, since the first was perfect and had no need for Agents.
That means Smith Jones and Brown came in the in third cycle. So that means they worked in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and part of the 6th cycles, until Johnson and the others came.
Morpheus says in Reloaded the war has been going on for more than a hundred years, so each cycle is over a hundred years.
Meaning Smith is around 400 years old.
This is provable by the fact Smith knows what happened in previous cycles, as he demonstrates in Reloaded. "It's going according to plan." "Yes, everything is has it was before." "Well not everything."
So, Smith is around 400
