Actually I don't think he is wearing black. His robe gives a hint of dark brown. I think they just look black in contrast with the white surroundings. Ok second question: What the hell is Anikan doing on the Tantive IV?

Personally I think it is just a promotional photo or just a pic for fun. To show Anikan in front of the same door he'll be blasting through twenty years later.

I tend to agree with both of OB1's statements above.
