I think this whole thing is ridiculous, and to be honest it's Eclipso's nonchalant attitude about how he's treated some people around here (yes, specifically Vinny, but generally others as well) that pisses me off most. I don't interact with him much but it's easy to see his posts and how that sarcastic, happy-go-lucky, condescending bullshit doesn't really encompass the spirit of a community which is what KMC is.
And I don't dig the whole playing the victim thing either, you're not fooling anyone by blaming others for shit you do. If he was truly sorry about whatever went down and was sincere about it he'd be accepted back and the whole thing dropped. The whole vendetta against Vinny is sick, it's a forum for christ's sake, go outside and play some frisbee instead when you feel the need to release your psychotic stalker like inclinations on a message board.

[*]He threatened a fellow KMC member in real life, I don't care that it didn't happen on KMC. Authorities were brought in to resolve the situation. To allow a member who has done something like that back in is just ridiculous.
[*]Many members find him annoying, especially now that the above situation is taken care of and he acts as if he did nothing wrong. Whenever someone makes a comment to him he does not like, he says he is going to PM the mods, and have them do whatever he tells them to do.

Vinny does have the right to be upset as one person who has actually been in this particular situation that lead to off the net. I completely side with him on the being pissed off notion. Also pretty much like Irene said if he were truly sorry and apologetic he wouldn't be so nonchalant about it. I'm all for second chances and I'm one my fifth chances and up with some people but, to honestly sit there and say just let it be is easier said than done.
I have not been not been nonchalant about it, I simply don;t think anything is helped by fighting about it or getting upset about it.
As far as Starhawk and I, that was actually ruled on back in December and I was cleared. So that is a non-issue.
As far as anything else, that was off-KMC business that hasn't been represented acurately. And the reason I haven't presented my side of things is because quite frankly people won't believe me and onyl want me to do it so they can yell at me. The people who are mad over this want a fight which I have no intention of giving them. Since my return I have tried to avoid the people who don't like me to restore some sense of peace and order to the forums. This has not been returned in kind and twice now mods have had to put a stop to it.
The upshot is this:
I have not broken the rules of KMC. I have no interest nor desire to start a fight with anyone on this topic. And yes I am in a good mood, thats not an attempt to bother anyone, I have just been in a really good mood lately. I am not going to be upset simply because people on here wish me to be.
My best suggestion is just set your settings to ignore me, and try to forget about me. Other then that I can't help you.
This is old news and it's been settled already in every way that counts.

I don't know what to think. On the one hand I'm backing Vinny up because he really hasn't done anything wrong, but on the other I do believe it's all better left to lie until the people who actually can do something about it, ie. the mods, get their asses into gear and sort it out.
It seems to be unanimous across the boards from the members' point of view. In this case I'd go with that.
Ok, let's correct some widespread ignorance here.
First of all, socking is NOT a perm ban offence. Socking to avoid a ban is, socking with malicious intent is, but simply having two accounts is not. So long as only one is being used, that is NOT a permanently bannable offence. Anyone saying he should be banned for that is 100% incorrect. There is, as it stands, not one shred of evidence that Eclipso has illegally socked. Suspect it all you like, there is no proof.
Secondly, you can NOT ban him because you don't like his attitude. And if the flaming and arguing he has engaged in was perm ban worthy, then VV, you'd be long gone too.
Thirdly- this is a no brainer. what people do in real life is ABSOLUTELY none of our business here as mods. It is bugger all to do with KMC. I don't believe I even had to say that. If people flame or threaten on the boards, fine. If they do it in real life, how can anyone with any rationality expect that to be something to do with us?
And then finally, roland, you say ban him because people find him annoying? There would only be about five posters left on the board if that was a criteria.
This debacle is ridiculous. All this about 'unanimous' member decisions? Mob rule. And rather disturbing at that. But the mob has no power here- if you harass a poster unreasonably then that in itself is flaming. Don't do it.
