Could the search option be reduced to 2 characters? A lot of words I search on contain only 3 characters.

And those keywords can' t contain merely 3 characters?

would be also good if there was an option to find a post by a particular person in particular thread 😖

The limit is in place to reduce the size of the index. Currently it stands at a whopping 360Mb and increasing the limit would increase this size meaning slower search and a slower server, and would also mean it takes longer to post as it has to add the words to the index.

The best solution I can come up with is to use Google, as Google indexes all our pages regularly.

And change the CHANGEME to the words you are looking for. They can be as small as one character 🙂

Razmeister, would it be possible to have a RED STICKY thread on top of ALL the forum sections pertaining to the rules and search options. I mean seriously, redundant and stupid threads have been multiplying like rabbits lately.

or something similar to that, but pointing that a forum isn't a chat room? perhaps in the same message thinger?

oh, another suggestion...instead of having the OTF say, "The forum with [basically] no rules", could it say something like..."Random stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else"?

or something like that.

JP, thats not easy to do as we have way too many forums. And the forums that have a dedicated mod tend to have their own list anyways.

Plus, I doubt the people you are referring to would read, never mind follow those rules or guides. 😬

Well, maybe we can force them to, like after they register it directly links them to the Rules instead of Main Index, just so that its there.

Pfft, I guarantee that even if that did happen there would still be people who haven't read the rules...

Yeah, it's like in the RPG forum. There's a thread at the top saying "New game ideas wanted -- POST HERE FIRST" and there's still loads of ramdom threads in there. eg. Final Fantasy 7 - Dirge of Cerebus could be in there as someone's thought oh a forum about role playing games, and there are others who haven't read the RPG guidelines and posted their game anyway and then get pissed off when they get closed

I don't blame them..... I don't even read the "Terms of Condition" of any game or program or anything.... sleep1
And I just read KMC rules like 3 months ago 😱
