I was using Adobe Photoshop CS and when i created the file, i made it a transparent file.....but when I converted it to .jpg from a photoshop document.....it added the gray area around the outside.

jpg's cant have transparent backgrounds. they usually come out white or grey. try making it transparent and making it a gif.

I think a .gif file will end up tooo big. But i'll give it a shot when I get home.

Yeah, you have to save it as a gif for it to be transparent. Supposedly you can also do transparency with PNG files, but I never was able to figure it out...
