He's the son of Mentor, end of story. And if Thanos is a God, what about his brother, Starfox ? Is he a God also ? Didn't think so. Thanos was already strong when he was a child, but later he cheated also a bit : he used technology to increase the power levels of his strength.

He has possessed the powers of a God (thanks to the Cosmic Cube, Infinity Gauntlet...), yes, but nothing more.

I really couldn't give you details on the Surfer thing...but he stole Galactus's power to use to steal the Beyonder's power. I think Galactus turned his ship into energy so he could absorb it, but Doom came in and stole it, then beat Galactus, and then went to steal the Beyonder's powers. I think. I can't remember clearly. Just pick up the Secret Wars series.

Right, because of the Cube, that's what I was referring to back in the 70s. Yeah he lost it, and the Gaunlet, but he keeps coming back. He's immortal with god-like powers. Pardon me for not being quite as picky. And what do you mean he cheated? Doom cheats all the time...that's all he does! Again, Doom is at the top of my list, but how the writers have him defeat cosmic beings older than the universe is just silly.

Yeah, that's comics for ya though, people doing the impossible all the time. Bruce Banner surviving gamma radiation? Now this should've never happened, but it did. Or Matt Murdock not getting cancer or something from those chemicals that splashed on him. Or Reed Richards making most of the shit he makes. And I won't even mention DC. That's what's done in comics, people doing impossible shit, some silly, some not, but entertaining most of the time.

Well yeah, but I can tolerate 'accidents' that give heroes their power. That's all fun, but when normal heroes/villains take out beings who create and destroy universes, that's too much. Plus it takes the fun out of it. Silly stories should be fun, not over the top, pull our your hair, 'what the hell was that!' absurdity. At least they had Doom beat cosmic beings instead of Red Skull or Mole Man or something, lol.

As many have said, he's basically Doom on a universal and cosmic level. Add to the fact that he's an eternal, indestructible and invincible.

Doom won't go down without a fight but he will go down.

I don't see why everyone feels like I vote for Doom against anybody. Stop putting him against shit opponents if you don't wanna see him win. Simple.

Doom has beaten more powerful foes than Thanos...power is not an issue.

Doom wins. He tricks Vader into fighting Thanos, while he goes off on his annual banquet with the lovely Silver Sable.

Vader tries to force choke Thanos, only to have his head unscrewed by the Titan. After that, Thanos pays a visit to the Emperor and bitchslaps that wrinkly old goat.

As much as I think doom is the man, he cant beat thanos....this thread doesnt even give him prep!

But Doom is still the Earths smartest man, and will kick your ass and you will enjoy it!

I say he has a chance, even without prep. Although that scenario would likely end up with him buying himself some time. I say Thanos wins but saying Doom has no chance is pretty far out.

Doom vs Thanos what a fight both are very smart and have nomerous resources to rely on. Thanos has more personal powers cosmic blast immunity to heat, elecricity, etc. Doom's armor is not to be messed with. I see this fight coming down to whoever could aquire mor power for themselves. Since Thanos knows how to use the IG. I think he could find the most power.

Apparently, someone is desperate to see Doom lose.
