Dber I think what he meant was that the series would get boring because it would be too many 007 films and not because Hugh is doing them.

I wouldn't like Hugh to be Bond much, because he's Australian and I feel Bond should be from the UK or Ireland... It went wrong with Lazenby already remember?
I don't feel his accent would be a problem since he can "hide" it as seen in X-men.

But another point is that (currently at least) he is too well known:
Van Helsing, Wolverine... and the new X-men movie is coming already, so, he has a bit of overexposure... internationaly that is, cause overhere the bond people were always unknown before they started
