1 big difference: stability

but i guess if you're not working with huge files,
you wont fall victim to the bugs. one of the most viciouse bugs
is when you save a huge file (with many channels) the program will go through
the motions of saving, but it will really just dump your work out,
leaving you with the exact same file you started with.
i fell victim to that on BIGTIME, and lost alot of$$$

5.5 is the most stable version i think.
never crashed on me. just lacks an expanable history pallet, some
filters like liquify, but who needs that junk?

I have photosho2 and no tools for it so I just said that cause it was the latest version.

OH WOW...that brings back memories. lol

that was my first verion, had it like 12 years ago, and even then it was considered ancient. at least get photoshop3, so you learn to work in layers.

lol, its not really technical.
ps 6&7 have an expandable history pallet, meaning the amount of undo's you have. 5&5.5 have 19 undo's (i think) but now you can set your preferences to have much more undo's. but why do you need that many? thats what backing up is for.

and as far as the newer filters...bah ..who cares.

the bugs make me actually want to downgrade to 5.5
