Thursday, August 26, 2004
Latino Review caught up with Jon Voight and asked him about the Ghost Rider status. Here's a few clips...
Voight said that rewrites may make the character he's up for too young for him, but nothing is certain yet. Voight could only say that his would be a devil-like character, but would not name names. "It's a very mysterious substance, that piece. It's a devil force that has enlisted this young man in his despair over losing his loved one. Then he finds that he's trapped in this aspect and then fights it. It's a very beautiful story really, beautiful love story as well."
Yet, in the months since Mark Steven Johnson was confirmed as director, Voight has not met with him. "I've talked to Mark Steven Johnson but I haven't met with him about it yet. He and Nic have had many discussions."
Major Hulk 2 Announcement Soon?
Source: Superhero Hype!
Monday, September 6, 2004
We received the following rumor from an unknown source who claims to have info on The Hulk 2. Will Eric Bana return as Bruce Banner and Jennifer Connelly as Betty Ross? We're not sure as it's been quiet on the "Hulk" front...
Expect a major announcement from Avi Arad soon about who the new director for Hulk 2 will be. And it looks like they have called Michael France in again to write a draft script for the second movie that will feature the Hulk in a more superhero role.
France also co-wrote the first film, which was directed by Ang Lee and criticized by many as being too dramatic. We'll have to wait and see if there's any truth to the above rumor.

September 24, 2004
New Line Cinema has released the new poster for writer/director David Goyer's Blade: Trinity, hitting theaters on Wednesday, December 8th. The third and final film in the franchise stars Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, and Parker Posey.
For years, Blade has fought against the vampires in the cover of night, with the world above unaware of the brutal ongoing war. But now, after falling into the crosshairs of the FBI, he is forced out into the daylight where he is driven to join forces with a clan of human vampire hunters he never knew existed - The Nightstalkers. Together with Abigail (Biel) and Hannibal (Reynolds), two deftly trained Nightstalkers, Blade follows a trail of blood to an ancient creature that is hunting him…the original vampire, Dracula.

September 26, 2004
Variety has published a new article which talks about how film production is heating up again Down Under. They mention both Ghost Rider and Superman that will shoot in Australia:
Oz execs cite several catalysts, including the opening last March of the Central City Studios in Melbourne, which will house "Ghost Rider," the Columbia pic starring Nicolas Cage, helmed by Mark Steven Johnson.
Warners has tentatively booked the Fox Studios in Sydney for its epic "Superman." Director Bryan Singer and a contingent of WB execs visited the studios two weeks ago, and the shoot -- reportedly stretching to 120 days -- is expected to start early next year.
Stay tuned for more on both of these projects.
Wesley Snipes Blade Drama?
Source: Los Angeles Times
October 1, 2004
In an article reprinted by the Houston Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times talks about a complaint Wesley Snipes may have had about the third Blade movie:
On the set of Blade: Trinity the actor's relationship with writer-director David Goyer was so contentious that in January, after the film had wrapped, Snipes wrote a five-page letter to New Line Cinema's co-chairman and founder, Bob Shaye, complaining about his treatment on the film. The letter, on stationery labeled "From the Desk of Dr. Wesley T. Snipes," outlined Snipes' concern that his character, Blade, had been sidelined in favor of "two new `younger' characters," played by Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds.
"As I recall, the movies are titled Blade and Wesley Snipes is the actor/artist that brought the comic book character to life," read the letter, whose contents were confirmed by two sources.
New Line executives declined comment. Goyer, who also wrote the first two Blade films, now shrugs it off.
