Chapter One: Summer Love…

“Com’on Bryan, get up.”

A pair of chocolate brown eyes slowly fluttered open, as sixteen-year-old Bryan Fedner stirred. He rubbed his eyes before he rolled out of his hotel bed. His blond hair was a complete mess, and his eyes were struggling to stay open. He slowly walked into the bathroom, to grab his favorite green bathing suit. Bryan changed into the bathing suit, and pulled on a tight white t-shirt.

The Fedner family was currently enjoying a vacation to Cancun, Mexico. Today they had made plans to visit Xel-Ha, a naturally formed water park. They were leaving to go back to New York in two days, so they planned to make he best of the time they had left.

Bryan and his parents arrived at the bus to go to Xel-Ha as the doors were closing. They barley made it on the bus before it left. Due to their lateness they were separated, and had to sit next to strangers. Bryan walked down the isle looking for an open seat. At the back of the bus, Bryan saw a seat next to a boy that looked about the same age as him. The boy’s icy blue eyes pierced Bryan’s through his long shaggy black hair. His tan complexion complemented his stunning white teeth, as well as his well sculpted body. A wifebeater clung to his sculpted chest, and a pair of black board shorts hung from his waste. His lips curled into a smile, and his eyes invited Bryan to sit next to him.

Bryan walked over to the mysterious boy, and sat right next to him. As soon as he sat, Bryan smelled the aroma of Axe body wash. His eyes fluttered close as he inhaled deeply, enjoying the scent to its fullest potential. Bryan smiled, before he felt the uneasy felling of someone’s eyes on him. His auburn eyes slowly opened and looked at the wonder next to him.

“Hi, my name’s Derrick.” The boy said.

“Bryan.” He said, extending his arm.

Derrick gladly took Bryan’s hand, and shook it firmly. He looked into Bryan’s eyes, trying to get a sense of who the blond really was. Bryan smiled, as he stared back into Derrick’s sapphire eyes. Derrick returned the smile, before letting go of Bryan’s hand.

“So, where you from?” Derrick casually asked.

“Long Island, New York, you?” Bryan asked.

“Orange County, California.” He spoke.

“The OC?” Bryan asked, his eyes widening.

“That’s the one.” Derrick said, chuckling.

“That’s so cool. I watch that show all the time. Is it really like that? I bet it is. Isn’t it?” Bryan rambled.

“A lil bit.” Derrick said, admiring Bryan’s cuteness.

Bryan realized he was rambling, and looked away from Derrick. He felt his cheeks burn up with blush as he looked to the floor of the bus. Bryan felt extremely embarrassed, and then heard a sound that sent him into shock. He heard Derrick’s sexy laugh escape through his very kissable lips. Bryan turned to face Derrick and smiled.

“What’s so funny?” He asked.

“You.” Derrick said.

“What about me?” Bryan asked.

“Everything.” Derrick said teasing him.

“Hey!” Bryan sobbed, playfully punching Derrick in his arm.

Derrick just laughed harder, before Bryan joined in on the laughter. The two spent the rest of the bus ride exchanging life-stories and random information about their selves. The hour and a half drive to Xel-Ha seemed to fly by to the boys. Before they knew it, they were their.

“So, wanna hang out here?” Derrick asked.

“Yeah, I’ll go tell my parents.” Bryan said.

Bryan got up, and walked over to his parents. He smiled at them, and begged them to let him hang out with Derrick. Eventually they let him, so he thanked them, and ran off to find Derrick.

Bryan ran off the bus, and looked for Derrick. Bryan smiled as he saw Derrick talking to an older woman. Bryan assumed it was his mother, and walked over to them.

“Hey.” Bryan called out to Derrick.

“Hey Bryan, this is my mom, Gloria.” Derrick said.

“Its very nice to meet you.” Bryan said, extending his arm.

“Its my pleasure.” Gloria said.

“Com’on Bryan, lets go.” Derrick said, trying to escape his mom before she said anything embarrassing.

“Derrick, you take good care of him, I like this one.” Gloria said, eyeing Bryan over.

Derrick snatched Bryan away from his mom, and they started to walk towards the entrance. The two boys showed the gatemen their tickets, and got their hands stamped. They walked into the park and towards the map.

“What did your mom mean by that?” Bryan asked.

“Oh, nothing, never mind her. She’s a bit crazy.” Derrick said.

Bryan smiled as Derrick scanned over the map.

“So what do you wanna do first?” Derrick asked.

“Hm…How ‘bout snorkeling?” Bryan suggested.

“Yeah, ok. Lets go get the stuff” Derrick said.

The two boys walked to the gear shack and got their snorkeling gear, before they started up the trail through the trees to the start of the snorkeling river. The river was bordered on both sides by a bunch of cliffs of different heights. The map pointed out special things along the river, including cliff diving, a rope bridge, and a Pirate Ship. As they headed up the trail they admired all of the nature they passed by.

“Have you ever been snorkeling before?” Bryan asked.

“Yeah, I went earlier this week.” Derrick said.

“See anything cool?” Bryan asked.

“Actually we saw a shark. It was hiding in the reef, the tour guide told us to calmly swim the other way.” Derrick said.

“I would have totally freaked out.” Bryan said.

“I bet you would” Derrick joked.

“What!” Bryan said.

“Ah! Don’t hit me again!” Derrick said, running ahead along the trail.

“Would I hurt such a perfect thing?” Bryan whispered, before he chased after Derrick.

By time Bryan caught up to Derrick, he was waiting by the river. He was sitting on a boulder when he saw Bryan run into the clearing. His lips curved into a smile as Bryan approached him.

“What took you so long?” Derrick asked.

“Ha ha, really funny.” Bryan said.

Derrick jumped off the bolder and dove into the water. He quickly surfaced and looked up at Bryan.

“You comin’ in?” Derrick asked.

“In a bit.” Bryan said, sticking out his tongue.

“Nope, you’re coming in now.” Derrick said.

Derrick jumped out of the water, and got to his feet. Water ran down his body as the sunlight and water reacted to make his god-like chest seem to shine. He slowly walked towards Bryan as water dripped from every part of his body. Bryan attempted to fight back until Derrick wrapped his arms around him and lifted him into the air. Bryan didn’t care where he was going, as long as if he was in Derrick’s arms. Derrick jumped into the water, bring Bryan down with him. The two came up for breath and looked into each other’s eyes.

“You bastard.” Bryan said.

Derrick put on a fake pouty face, but Bryan turned around and faced the opposite direction. Derrick swam over to him and wrapped his muscular arms around Bryan from behind him.

“But I wub you.” Derrick sobbed into Bryan’s ear.

Bryan laughed, taking this as a joke. He sighed and held onto Derrick’s hands.

“I wub you too, now get off me.” Bryan said.

Bryan knew he was lying. The last thing he wanted was Derrick to let go of him, but much to his dismay Derrick let go. Bryan turned around and faced Derrick. He smiled at him, before he covered his eyes with the snorkeling goggles. Bryan put his face down into the water and was amazed to see how many different types of fish their were. Their were fish of all different shapes, colors, and sizes swimming all around the river.

The two boys continued to snorkel down the river for about another quarter of a mile, until they came across a platform. Derrick climbed onto the platform, and held his arm out for Bryan. Bryan took it, and Derrick pulled Bryan onto the platform. The two of them took off their snorkeling equipment and left it on the platform. Derrick lead Bryan to a set of stairs carved into the rocks, still holding his hand. He lead Bryan up the steps and across a bridge to the opposite side of the river. Once on the opposite side, the two headed up another set of steps to a cliff. Above the cliff was a sign that read:

Cliff Diving: Not for the faint of Heart. 150 foot drop. Do you think you can handle it?

“150 Feet!? Are you crazy? Take me back down to the river right now!” Bryan yelled.

“Com’on, you know I’d never let you get hurt.” Derrick rationed.

“No. I’m not doing this.” Bryan said.

“It’ll be fun, com’on. You know I’ll protect you. We’ll go down together.” Derrick said.

Bryan looked down from the cliff edge
