Superheroes in music.

I have noticed lately, a few references to superheroes in music, mostly rock. So I made this just to see if anyone else caught some of these references.

Powerman 5000- on their first CD, Blood Splat Rating System (later re-released as Mega! Kung Fu Radio) in the song Public Menace, Freak, Human Fly he sings "I know a Machine Man he's X-51, hotter than steal his fists are like machine guns." While not quite machine guns, X-51 does have a 357. Magnum built into each forefinger. Their second album also features a track titled Son of X-51.

Another band, Monster Magnet has a track titled Ego, The Living Planet, which is an instrumental. In another song, Baby Gotterdammerung, the singer muses "Now what would Modok do, if his memory got too full?"

Guns N' Roses mention Captain America in Paradise City.

And lastly for this post, Paul McCartney, with his band Wings, did a song, "Magneto and Titanium Man", While not in the title, Crimson Dynamo also makes an appearance.

3 Doors Down mention Superman in their song 'Kryptonite'.

joe satriani has an albun with silver surfer in the cover, the name of the album is "surfing with the alien"

i think dire straits and queen have a song that makes a reference to some superheros. i´ll search the lyrics.

Method Man from the Wu-Tang Clan constantly mentions Ghost Rider and Thor. He is a big Marvel fan. They've also mentioned Spider-Man and Doc Ock in their songs.

I know Queen had a song about Flash Gordon.

Henry Rollins has a song called Ghostrider, haven't heard it yet though.

There is an old song from the late 50's called "Popeye". It was one of those one hit wonders. And if Popeye ain't some kinda hero, then who the h*ll is?

There's also a song called "Lonesome Zorro". Is also a hero.

Yea, rollins Band had a Ghost Rider song, on The Crow soundtrack. Not exactly...good.

Pink Floyd's album has Living Tribunal and Dr. Strange on the cover.

there was an indie band called Captain America that changed it's name to Eugenius. it had the same lead singer as the vaselines.

In Velvet REvolver's Superhuman, they mention Superman. sweet.

If I'm not mistaken, MF Doom has Dr.Doom on all his covers.

About Queen i´m not sure, but i wasn´t talking about that one, altough flas is a superhero.
