what do you consider Art?

I just had an interesting experience in a certain thread ( which the title does not need any mentionin ) regardin what is consider art? And what is Obscene? Im very open to Art and I very much apreciate it

But in no-way would I accept nudity and depravation as an excuse for art. There are two people going around postin pictures about a certain so-called artist and they consider it to be art.

Well FYI it isn't! Art is for enjoyment and to make a person awe. Not to offend or even degrate a woman.

Any person with right senses can tell the difference between what is Artistic and what is Obscene.

I see art as beautiful and inspiring NOT as vulgar and perverted! Please post artist that created truly masterpieces. Because art is about making a person feel impress. Someone that makes paintings of obscene figures of nudity is just a PERVERT!

well I was unaware there was even nuditiy IN this forum, Im sure RAZ would take action if it was as bad as you say

as far as ART goe's tho there are vast style's and medium's, i couldnt name them all.

I like many kind's somtimes scene's of space can be amazing.........sorta
well mostly I draw "MARVEL" style with my own twist.

well there are certain nudity that suits art and there some that dont
um... but then when you see some of the things piccaso has drwn you'd get a bit confused

I remember making a thread like this - when I wanted opinions for my coursework 😄 Art is whatever you make it out to be, what your senses feel the piece in question is.

Dont kid yourself mate. You have not read the whole of the thread, and the only reason you clicked the link is because Danny warned about offensive context. Thats all.

You dont have a clue what art is and what degrading women is. You might want to research on the surrealist paintings made by a WOMAN, im sure if you are so smart to tell me what art is, you at least know two surrealist women artist, right and are familiar with their work! Although to educate me on that matter you should know way more than that.

If you did know, and if you have seen their work, you would release that what you wrote is completely ridiculous.

You have the right not to agree with whatever the hell you want, but dont come in here and tell me about what is art and what isnt.

^^ and that is spot on! That wat art is! Its what you make of it, its what you see.

You clearly cannot see anything beyond only whats in front of you, and i suppose thats ok for some people.

But DO NOT tell me, to go educate myself in art! Because that is very offensive to me. I know far more about it than you, obviously now, as you well demonstrated. Not only do I know more about it, but i know how to appreciate it.

Many people have visited that thread, one of them being FEMALE MODERATOR, who also is a great Giger fan, yet no one found Giger perverted or offensive.

Surrealism!! Read on the definition of it. Also while you are at it, read on the definition of pornography!

Art is for enjoyment, so something you enjoy others may despise, don't kid yourself about that.

How exactly does said pic degrade a woman, have you seen some movies lately 😒
He posted a warning, if you don't like it you should never have clicked on the link of the picture.

And many people may be impressed, art is about expressing yourself, not about censoreship, if you didn't like it, you should never have clicked the link.

Also just because we have a report button does not mean everyone should use it to feel powerful.
This is an art forum, people express themselves, I find Xena vulgar, but I don't go moaning about that 🙄

Well.... Picasso paintings are pieces of art, inspiring it may be but to me personally I don't find it beautiful.

Remember, music is also art 😉 but doesn't mean all of it is great!

Well... Some of the greatest art ever created has been people who happen to not be wearing any clothes... (ie The Birth of Venus ) It's not degrading to women. There are tons of things that go on every day that are degrading to women--a lot of music videos, porn, etc.
Art is anything that people dream up--drawings, paintings, music, photography...

WE are trying to enjoy the art. But when a newcomer goes arround reporting people for enjoying art, thats what becomes a problem.

She did not make this thread in hope to find out what the rest of us consider as art, she made it to bash the Giger thread as well as myself and WindDancer.

...personally...i think xena was referring to the porn link and not the art...but thats me...youll have to ask her yourself...as for newbs....hmm....maybe we should put a power limit on the newbs eh?

This has very little to do with her being a newb. And no, she has taken this thing to the welcome forum as well, bashing me in her thread, how i came down with what or whatever. AS i said before, dont vent your problems in public as no one is interested.

Number two, that was not a porn link it was a link of a Gigers painting, which WindDancer didnt want to post. He put a warning on it. Like Irene already said, just because there is a report button doesnt mean it needs to be abused.
