If you are 14 (turned 14 this year or turning 15?) then you are either in grade 8 or 9 in the North American standards.... assuming you did not skip any grades.

I 've been going to school for 8 years and this is my 9th (excluding kindergarden)

In North America, grade 9 is the first year. 😄

here we have 6 years of elementary school and 6 years of high school
(I go to a private english high school so it's 7 years 🙁 )
