The instant I heard who was getting the symbiote I immediately said "That little dweeb does not have what it takes to host a symbiote!" and shazaam, within two issues he lost it. I'm psychic.
The symbiote ditched little Angelo because he was a quivering wuss with all the instinctive manliness and aggressiveness of the average My Scene Barbie. Ineffectual 90-lb. weakling.
I do NOT at all agree with the ditching of Brock by Marvel, but even I will admit the scene where Angelo fails to pass muster and is abandoned mid-leap by the symbiote... twenty stories up, no less is a laugh-out-loud funny moment.
The symbiote did not "make" him jump... Angelo jumped in an effort to flee the scene; Spidey was giving him Hell.
Another prediction: Gargan is not going to be able to give that symbiote what it needs, either - altho he may last a bit longer. He may survive. But he won't keep it either.
Only one person can really host it long-term. And we all know who that is.
No he's not. That storyline is out of continuity. They can kill Eddie and Aunt May, hell they could kill off everybody in this title because it's like a parallel universe sorta thing where there are no consequences / ramifications for the rest of the Marvel Universe. (I predict it will end w/ Pete and Norman fighting to the death. No doubt to be proven wrong next issue.)
And even so they never explicitly say he's dead. It's only implied and how many implied deaths end up being oh he survived come next story arc...
So... there.

Obviously, only I can host the symbiote long-term. Duh.
Brock's dead....? Really? Wow, I missed that. Could someone point out to me exactly WHERE we're told he's actually dead? Because I could just swear all I got to see was this:
... and it ain't nowhere on that.
Fece: "Ahahahah, he was a wuss WITH the symbiote? What the hell. You could trash anybody with that thing. Did the symbiote specifically 'tell' Angelo not to flee? And why the heck wouldn't Angelo just let the symbiote take over for fighting if he couldn't?"
Yes it did tell him not to flee. The symbiote was trying to coach Angelo through the fight, which BTW he was basically WINNING... but Wuss could not control his fear of the situation so he tried to flee the scene.
The symbiote then lost patience with him & dumped him.
