Anyway, to answer your question, I really don't have an opinion on this subject on account of the continued grudge I bear Marvel comics. I have been personal boycotting current Marvel titles because over the last 3 or 4 years the quality of stories seem so desperately contrived.

I'm probably alone here, but it seems to me that Marvel is only producing comics so they can have more material for movies, which provide global exposure and interest, but always betray the character(s) and/or title they are meant to spotlight. What I mean is, you simply can't fit 20 or 30 years of story into a movie adaptation and do it any justice. A character can enjoy decades in the comics, and yet be killed in a half hour in the movie.
In the comics, Spiderman doesn't always win the battle, AND he fights a war he may never win. In the movies, he may be bruised and battered in the process, but he ALWAYS emerges the victor. His adversary rarely lives to see the error of his ways. But I digress...

So, as far as answering your question, I'm not the person you'd ask. I'd be more able to help you remember the details of specific arcs, recommend titles, series or arcs that are worth reading, and answer questions about older comics.
Kiekan or Orange would be good to ask about this sort of thing. They're both are smart and give very detailed and thoughtful info, links, and pics.

if anyone else read red sojna spiderman what did you think of the way they protrayed venom.. I like the snake style teeth with the tow pointer parts.. I think its a more realistic adapation of the way the symbiote would look in order to eat brains.

Also I would like to welcome back badsymbiote, been a long time brother. And would like to also mention i have the upmost respect for Keikan, just not for the other (thou who must not be named)...

and I would like to welcome Ozone to the forum.

I would also like to disargee with you badsymbiote on your claim that marvel is only making story lines for movies. on the grounds that if they where to make half the story lines they have done into movies they would recive a "R" rating due to CAPTIAN AMERICA GETTING SHOT, AUNT MAY GETTING SHOT, SPIDY Nearly KILLING THE KINGPIN.

So Heres what i like about the newer story lines

Ulitmate: CUT THE BULLSHITE that every writer portarys Venom takes down the Juggernaut but gets his ass handed to him by Spidy.. Spidy is dead oh wait no hes not he was just a cocoon and now he gots powers.
The earth is now covered in symbiotes Oh no carnage ate them and is now HUGE!!! well you get the point

Normal Marvel U: Rebuilding Massive events that create controversy, now they say controvery sells but it aint like death now in a un presdented move they kill off captian america start a Skrull invasion.. I ask you Mr. Badsymbiote wats not to like.

Oh and as for who should get the symbiote i vote for me and my Gf.. Symbiote Baby making time woot woot

I hate all of the new spider-man comics but if there is one comic I hate more then the modern comics is the ultimate comics they are stupid.

the ruin the characters have stupid art change origins and have stupid scripts but mostly they ruined venom

They made it almost real

Think about it most story's have to have some belivability. They wanted to retell spiderman from the beginging HOW could they not have venom. So honsetly the cure for cancer line was a good idea its beliveable and thats what matters.

Yeah but he did not have a spider symbol or white patches on his claws he did not have a good Eddie Brock look or history and i prefer an alien then a cancer suit that eats its host that and venom was more a goo he couldn't hold his form and had spikes/teeth coming out of his arms

He was still cool.
