Bah, try though they may, this new "Venom" is not going to work. If it's not Brock, it's not Venom! It is that simple. I am not interested in seeing some ineffective fool who's daddy had to BUY him the symbiote crashing around.
Now I will admit that Cho's artwork, especially from the neck down, is how Venom oughtta look. He looks great. They changed the face though, and for that I will make them pay [in an alternate universe.] Venom does -not- have purple lightning-bolts on his face, game over.
Some people, like Green Goblin and Dr. Octopus, were truly in need of a costume-makeover. That's fine. Venom does not need a redesign. Why would he? He's pure, unadulterated anatomy, at least when drawn like he should be. Can't get more classic than the basic human form.

Huh? The "eye blotches" arn't purple.... they're still white as they should be. The only difference is the shape and the fact that he actually has eyes that can be seen (other than the white blotches). I actually think the new look is pretty good, though not seeing the traditional spider insignia on his torso is gonna take some getting used to.

Well, I've got a pic somewheres where the "eyes" are purple, so my mistake.
In other news: blech. That dorky little *kid* is not going to be able to control that symbiote, I'll be willing to bet. Jesus H. Christ, we've seen it all now: "Venom" is now a kid who walks around with his arm around his father's waist....? That just ain't cool. Say what you want about Brock and his [admittedly flimsy at times] motivations: at least he's all man and has never been mistaken for anything else. Sheesh, next we'll be seeing Michael Jackson wearing the symbiote. Same diff.
Thank God his eye-spots are NOT purple; I had begun to worry that they would turn Carnage lavender...

I like the idea I saw posted on SHH that this is actually the V sym's spawn; and the V sym is still with Brock. It's a plot to snag the money and send a stand-in killer after Peter and be discounted as a threat himself. That would be too awesomely clever and fan-responsive for Marvel, however...also, I thought syms could spawn only once? Of course, if he's on fertility drugs, that changes the rules; he could have a whole litter.
damn marvel no one can control venom( i call all symbiotes by their super villain names ok so when i refer to them i mean their symbiotes) except for 3 people and thats brock, fevers mom (bad,s) and symbiotica i get venom 2099 fever red gets carnage-symbiote (or a copy of carnage ) caboose gets ultimate venom while mane gets ultimate carnage scibot has the symbiote that he created while nataku is in a gundamn and paola has the phoneix powers ..... and koto k as a literal god gets what i consider the ultiamte power the wraith version of the soul reaver (and all the cool soul suckign powers as well )

Naomi has been so enjoyable as a charactor She's edgy but able to channel some of her anger into wisecracks, and that quality does a lot to balance the angst. I loved her line about the fight not being a spectator sport.
The fights were well-thought. The description of the impact into the pavement was very "meaty" but Malice's condition was even better. I could really envision her face and posture.
I think as a charactor, she's a great foil to Naomi. Katherine is so direct, focused, and frank. She deals with situations very stoically, accepting defeat, and making hard choices without fuss. Naomi, on the other hand, is impulsive and conflicted- but she shows so much potential and self-awareness.
The "ending?" was very kind to fans of all the primary charactors, Malice, Eddie, and Naomi.
I love Malice and want to think that she survived and in the future will be an influence on Naomi. Yes, they have a prickly relationship, but Katherine has many impressive qualities, not least her ability to lead- she is even leading her symbiote although it's a recent bonding. (Yes, I know, hers is just a baby, a spawn, and Naomi's is the big V, but still!)
I know you didn't get a chance to fit all your ideas in, as there was no romance for Naomi. But, that's fine by me, because she had enough to deal with, and she's just a child, really.
There's a lot left to be done with the 3 main charactors, and that's good. It's like the hero in the western, riding off into the sunset- classic. A sense of the endlessness of certain quests, and especially appropriate here, where the quest is identity.
Thanks for the generous compliments, Fever. I like it when people appreciate my work beyond just the surface, and can actually see the different types of conflict and drama I add to stories, which to the average reader might just come off as being a purely action story.
Though one point I think you're off on...
Her name is KRISTINE not 'Katherine'.
Also though this issue will be my last she-venom fanfic for awhile, I will likely continue on with it someday. As you pointed out, there is still a ton of stuff to be covered. My problem right now is that I am just not interested in writing She-Venom stories. I sort of figured that out when it took me over four weeks to write the last one. It's not that I'm out of ideas, it's just I'm tired of writing about this particular topic. I have tons of other story ideas, and I just want to focus on them for awhile now, and not have to worry about getting another She-Venom out at a particular time to appease the fans.
But who knows...it may be sooner than expected that I decide to return to She-Venom...could be tomorrow even. Guess it all really depends on what happens in the future.
