I'm climbing tomorrow; and I've found a long-term climbing partner; the girl I'm climbing with now really can't afford it. The one who just offered to partner with me is the wife of a manager at the rock gym. She won't have any financial concerns! She's petite like me; so no worries about tying down. I have a Spidey figure I'm planning on taking up to the top of the wall. I'm just a beginner; should I hold off til I can get up something better than a five eight?
You climb walls? Out here in cow country we climb nearly sheer cliffs with our bare hands (No lie) It just takes lots of getting used to. Try looking for cheap apartment complexes and brick buildings, usualy the bricks are mislined enough so you can get small finger and toe holds (usualy thiner then the width of your finger, so you gotta hold on hard) and you can practice on those. Thats what we do. But don't push yourself too hard, cause if you don't have gear, falling is not cool.

Glad you're having some fun--and very glad to see you're not "too old" to take your toys along with you. I have a couple of Venom figures I tote along with me--I take them to work (my boss hates Venom because even the other employees began playing with them), play with them when I run inane little errands, put them on my dashboard when I drive...

I'm in cow country, too, Nataku! Quite a few people do climb buildings here, but they use gear. I climb at a rock gym. I love the nonsense there- it's a lot like here. Trash talking and braggadocio.
