maybe you did kill the balance, but I think sigs are always better with a clear focal point. Maybee its just my 2 the point personality, but it works and I like it. Besides, breaking borders is alwas the easiest way to max out the strength of a figure. To me the figure is a secondary aspect to the piece. It may not have been your intent, but I agree that your work is impressive and i think this signature in particular was a success.
And I think you should respect Amun's and Smokes's opinions. They both seem to be valuable critics. But I think never being satisfied with your work is the best way to get motivated and to make better pieces.
