Sheeeeesh......
Will you three get a room for gawdsakes !
Anyway...thanks folks for your cogent comments on the fashion industry, as it does need looking at !
Leaving aside for the moment that much of the name-branded clothing is now manufactured in the third-world by children....I think that we cannot jump to conclusion that labels will automatically be better quality or better design than the K-Mart stuff.
We buy most of our clothes from MATALAN over here and it is almost always good quality at reasonable prices.
Over here in the good ole UK we are hammered by high prices in the high-street anyway without having to pay extra for designer names, in fact it has been found that an easy value conversion here is to just convert the price in Dollars -when bought in America - to Pounds - when bought in the UK. The numbers stay the same.
I suppose it is all about how many readies you have to spend in either country and if you REALLY want to sport designer-labels to impress your mates then you will find the cash to do it.
I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised just how many of the younger folk here actually don't care for designer names.
What blew me away was when my son - who was about fifteen at the time - saved up for six months to buy a pair of 501s only to cut them with slashes a few weeks later when the fashion-trend changed.
Now you can buy them that way and STILL pay £65.00 for them.
Daft I call it !
But then again.. I am a parent and not a child anymore I guess ! 😑
