The Death Star and Hyperspace

I'm just not sure if the Death Star had the capibility to make the jump to hyperspace. If it did not, then Aldreaan and Yavin had to have been very close to each other...or there was a considerable amount of time before the Death Star reached Yavin after it destroyed Aldreaan.

If anyone has any info please post

why shouldn't it have it? what's the military use of a death star if it takes millenias to reach a rebelious planet on the other side of the galaxy?

Yup, that's sorted that... we just never see it. Must be damn scary to be around when it emerges.
