Great Actors

There's one thing that I firmly believe when it comes to movies, there are very few great actors and actresses. That bad actors can be good in a movie because the job the director did made that person's performance. I also know everyone will disagree with everyone else's answers.

But anyways, who do you think are some of the truly great actors that have worked in this era? (Note: NOT your favorite actor)

Obviously not all actors always make great movies or always have rememberable roles, but they have their share. To put it another way, if you like a certain actor in a certain movie that doesn't make them a great actor. Also I think it's important to keep in mind people that are normally considered character actors.

The best actresses in the world today are June Brown and Nicola Pierrepont.... ten points to anyone who knows the first, and fifty if anyone's seen the second in anything..... as for actors.... well, I must say that most so-called actors don't act... they star... an actor should enable you to suspend disbelief so thoroughly that you don't realise that it is the actor on stage or screen at all... so my vote goes to Martin Clunes....

It is of course utter nonsense to say June Brown is the best actress in the world today. She has ONE note and has been blowing it for decades.

I will give you this - she is responsible (in part) for the best single british television drama moment of the last 20 years. - The two hander with Gretchen Franklin was utter brilliance.
