Horror buffs- HELP!

Hi ya'll SUP!! 😛 Ihave a small bit of a movie stuck in my head, and i can't remember the titlle. I'm not even sure of when it was made.(atleast 1991) In the beginning a meteroed? landed on a farm and is found by a boy. Later the mother is cutting veggies and they (veg) are rotten or bloody inside. Then she is darning a sock and starts to sew into her hand. Any ideas?? thanks for any ideas 🤣
