James Bond Record

I just browed through some sites and I noticed that Goldfinger is after all this time still holding a RECORD!

It's:

MOST SUCCESSFUL SECOND SEQUELS (in other words, number three in a series)

With a Gross of $51,081,062 it made an improvement of 106% because the Predecessor Gross was $24,796,765!

😱

after all these years, still standing there on the table 🙂

but it will get swept away by X-men I'm afraid 🙁

Or Spider-Man ...

I'm also fairly certain that, in terms of the number of tickets sold {rather than the gross profit, which is, of course, subject to inflation}, Thunderball is still one of the most successful movies of all time ...

actually, Thunderball is ranked 26th

(Goldfinger is number 40)

That's still pretty good ...

considering the targeted audience, it's amazing they still rank that high!

yoo-hoo, that's great, considering that sequels are hardly ever successful 😊

well, the star wars ones are very popular 😉

but yeah, they are very old and still reasonably well ranked

star wars you mean? 😖

nono, I mean that the star wars sequals did great, but Bond does very well too

just Goldfinger or the rest too?

well, they have the adjusted record of course 😖 and thunderball did good too

"Thunderball" did best in terms of the number of tickets sold ...

but not with inflation, cause no one can beat gone with the wind

I meant best out of the Bond films {in terms of the number of tickets sold}, not of all time ...

ah, glad we cleared that up... I reckon bond number 22 has a good shot at beating it... if bond 21 is normal again people will go to 22 much easier again

Even so ... I doubt it. Bond mania is nothing at all like it was in the 60's; plus, movies in general just aren't doing as well now as they used to {in terms of the number of tickets sold}. It's all about the money now ...

and stupid CG, those ruined the movies 🙁
