request to moderators

Is it posible for a permenant thread to be posted for newcomers informing them of the most practicle use of the site?

Not everyone has experience with forums and are unaware of the search facility. A newcomer has no knowledge of what has been discussed before and is bound to replicate threads.

It is not really a moderators job to take on this role but I believe it would save many misunderstanding in the future.

There is a welcome forum. And there is a faq. Otherwise tehre is the communications forumfor questions.

And if all that fails, they'll find out the hard way. 😈
