Best NIN?

By pattern I meant the general sound of their albums. All three sound different, as they were created in different ways and circumstances.

Its true, they do have a distinguishable sound, but I can't see how thats a bad thing. You can always tell immediately a Metallica song or a Korn song or a System Of A Down song. Being instantly recognisable is the mark of a band who have created their own style and not followed a generic formula.

As for not being able to tell one song from another, thats simply a case of you not being interested enough in the band to make the distinction, which everyone does with bands they don't like.

Go with Pretty Hate Machine. I liked NIN when I first heard them, and then I heard PHM and I ****in loved them.

Why? because it's the original. If you listen to it from the right perspective, you also get that empty feeling when you listen to it, like there is something missing, but it doesn't need to be there...not that that made any sense. that's why i love it more than the others.

nin is a really cool and original band so i say go with the cd that has the song "closer" its a good song. i highly recommend picking one up if you have the mean.

personally i think PHM is the best album, having heard all of them 😖

TDS will always be my favorite album, although PHM has my favorite NIN song.
