EPISODE 918-- "Cartman kills the internet"
In this "very special" episode of "South Park", Cartman's mother gets him a new computer for his birthday. Cartman divides his time between looking at pornography and creating millions of nonsensical, marginally coherent threads on message boards. When he writes "OMGLOL" one too many times, though, he overloads and crashes the Internet.
All electronic information exchanges throughout the world are thrown into chaos. Transportation grinds to a halt, affecting all banking, commerce and trade. Since roads are impassable, cities are without means to acquire foodstuffs from the countryside. Food riots erupt on a global scale. Cannibalism becomes the norm.
Finally, nuclear missiles are accidentally launched from their computer-controlled bases. Millions are killed. When the smoke clears and civilization begins to rebuild, the newly-appointed "King of Earth" (Dennis Franz of TV's "NYPD Blue"😉 declares that children are banned from the internet forever. The world rejoices.
