He almost always makes sense, but I also read an interview with him ages ago, and he said something that really opened my eyes.

The most common critiscim you tend to recieve is that your lyrics are often abstract to the point of indecipherable. What's your response to those who accuse you of not making sense?

Well, I know that my lyrics make sense, cos when I write, I write about things that mean somethin personal to me, you know? Its just when I put pen to paper, the story or experience i'm trying to relay won't come out as straight as like, a narrative or whatever. I twist it and f*ck it up and throw in metaphors to make it more interesting right, but I always keep the same thread runnin through my songs, and i never stray far from the core of the story. Sure I spice it up a little, but when it comes down to it, i'm just spinnin a story, and people who listen to my music can interpret what i say however they want. Every song I write means somethin special to me, and you ask some of my fans at the show, if they don't get a song, they read into the lyrics and get somethin else out of it. Somethin true to them, even if its totally different from what i intended, but it's cool cos that way, I can touch anyone anywhere with my words, as they can visualize what i'm sayin. Sometimes making sense is a pretty arguable term, ya know. Some cats get me, some don't, thats all.
