okay, so ive been reading a lot of season 4 spoilers, and its pretty easy to figure out which ones are crap and which ones MIGHT be true....
here's my theory (based on snippets i've picked up elsewhere)

craig receives a car as a bday gift from his late father...
there is definitely a car crash in season 4
it has been rumored that shane mckay (emma's biological father) is killed in season 4 (mercy street?) when he runs across the street to get her attention and is struck by a car
anyone see a pattern forming here?

fathers.. cars.. crashes.. craigs father leaves him a car and he kills emma's father with it, in the same manner that his own father was killed. (wasnt craigs father killed in a car crash in season 2?)

yep! I've heard of those. I think that Shane might die, but they might have someone die close to them. I've heard that in TIME STANDS STILL, Rick commits suicide.

thats possible too, because a lot of degrassi: tng plots mimic the plots of the old show degrassi high, and in one old episode, caitlin's ex-boyfriend claude commits suicide.

Degrassi High is the first Degrassi series in the 80's. That's when Emma's mom, Spike was a kid.

They had a lot more serious issues, in my opinion.

Far from it spidey. I hate to say it, but I almost like Degrassi Hight better. Some episodes I do.

Like the thing with Terri and the abusive boyfriend. Degrasssi High did that storyline and it was much more intense.

Kathleen went out with a boy named Scott and he started abusing her. Her friends told her to break it off, but she kept telling him, "He'll change."
He kicked her to the ground . .. and started kicking her. Literally. He punched her, smacked her upside her head . .INTENSE!
Finally, she broke it off, but it didn't stop there. Scott started stalking Kathleen for months and she finally decided to go to the police and press charges.

The thing with Terri/Rick wasn't intense enough. Rick shoved her into the wall, held her arm to long and gave her a bruise, she had a little cut on her lip . ..not that intense compared to the Kathleen situation. Plus, when Rick pushed terri down, it seemed more like an accident than actually abuse.

Another good storyline were twins Heather and Erica. Over the summer, Erica became pregnant and didn't know what to do. She was crying all the time and you actually saw some EMOTION from her. That's better than I can say for Manny.

Finally, Erica went to a counselor at an abortion clinic to discuss her options. "Heather, what do you think about .. .abortion?" she asked her sister.

Heather was furious and was 150% against abortion and she tried talking her sister out of it. Erica was depressed and didn't know what to do. Their friend Liz, was completly against abortion because Liz's mom was gonna have an abortion with her, but didn't. So Liz was completly against it. Liz wrote all sorts of stuff on her locker, like "Baby Murderer! Killer!" and stuff like that.

Finally, Heather decided to support her sister and they walked to the abortion clinic. But that didn't stop Liz and a large group of anti-abortion kids protesting with their posters and stuff AS ERICA WALKED TO THE CLINIC!

INTENSE! They walked behind her, shouting and everything. . .Erica was crying .. but she still went inside and had an abortion.

But the storyline didn't stop there. Erica didn't show up to school for weeks, she was too depressed. But when she did show up, Liz had spray painted, slurred, and put flyers in Erica's locker and everywhere else calling her a MUrderer and other names.

Then episodes later, Erica started going out with this new boy and Heather felt like she was moving too fast and was gonna make the same mistake again.
The side-plot to that episode was Heather having weird dreams about Erica and when she had the abortion. What the baby would have been like and everything . ..INTENSE. Plus, the side-plot fitted much better with the main plot. It was great!!

Degrassi High was the BEST show ever. With the abortion storyline they did with Manny, I saw NO emotion from her whatsoever. If her parents are really as strict as she says they are, I expected them to lock her into the house and throw away the key.

also, there was a storyline about a guy named dwayne getting HIV from a girl he messed around with over the summer, and he eventually had to come out and tell everyone at degrassi that he was HIV positive before the rumors got around...

i found the entire degrassi high series on vhs (14 tapes) on ebay but its like 120 bucks... i cant justify spending that much :-(

nope. cuz we're stupid in america. we suck. if they think it's too intense, they really should put it on a different channel. like...not one that plays "little bear" in the morning. cuz they're stupid.

That is Nickelodin. ANd I agree, Degrassi needs to be taken away from the N. But KEEP writing, e-mailing, signing petitions or whatever it is that you are doing to let the N know that you think they are stupid for what they are doing.

The New York Times talked about how fans were so upset about the not showing of AWH>
