In the West, it's probably not as big a deal being gay and Muslim, but I've heard from more than one person that several Islamic countries while they openly denounce homosexuals, the powers that be turn a blind eye to the underground scene and gay clubs, bars etc. thrive, as long as they stay on the down-low.

There's also a high amount of men who live double-lives, married and straight M-F, but come Friday night, they're living a gay lifestyle on the weekend. Again, not seen it first hand, but been told by people who have travelled to certain Islamic countries.

There are gay Muslims (at least in Oman, where I used to live).
Those I've seen were Omani nationals, so the gov't. is powerless to arrest them, since Oman is a semi-open country which exercises some liberal freedom.
