I watched the first two seasons before any of that kal el and jorel crap was introduced. I caught a few episodes of the third, and was just wandering what was going on. See, i have been a fan of superman for years. If there are two things that have always been consistant with superman through his adaptations it is that he was sent here by jorell to protect the Earth, and that he is nearly invincible. I just thought these were the two things everyone new about Superman. How shitty would that be if this show changed that. Clark kent became Superman, and protected humanity, because of his fathers wishes. If his father had enver sent him to Earth to protect mankind, it is very, very possible that he would have just used his abilities for himself or even more to get things to work for him.

That would certainly be logical, considering he becomes Superman. Or perhaps Clark just becomes rebellious against Jorels wishes.
