What exactly is the storyline for Constantine?

I'm hearing a lot about how people are really excited for this movie, and I know they are making a game to coincide with the movie. But what exactly is the storyline? Who are the characters? I never read the comic but it sounds interesting. I appreciate any help!

i never like Constantine. i think hes kinda similar to Spawn in that he travels to hell and make a deal with the devil somtehin or other...

As far as I know, Constantine is almost entirely different from Spawn. He's a magician and conman who is more or less on the side of good--although calling him a superhero would be stretching the term to its breaking point. I'd be a lot more excited about this if they hadn't cast Reaves as Constantine. Man, but that was a bad choice.

Yes, that hurts (Reave). I love John Constantine. So dark, all the cold-hearted faeries, the demons, the secret societies, the cast-out angels, the druggy friends, the suicidal lovers, the dodgy scams, the desperation, the self-hate, the callousness... but let's talk about Constantine's movie, not our lives.

They did try and convice Russel Crowe to play ol blaze. I think Crowe would have been a good choice. I to think Keanu was a bad choice, but again the poeple behind the film know the character and the stories, so maybe they are trying somthing different. I am anxious to see how it turns out, but have my doubts.

Crowe would have worked for me. Julian Sands, also- a very good actor, very versatile. Maybe getting a bit old, though? Constantine's got to be, above all, a charmer.

I could see sands defaintly, but yeah maybe a bit to old. It could still have worked though if done right. Yeah, i saw that romance movie reeves was in, isomthing October, or November wel i know it had a month in the title. that was a decent role for him , broke out of his one dimensional style acting, even if it was a chik flick...what can i say my girl made me watch it.

She tied you to a chair...
then, all she could think of was putting on a movie?
Women, it's necessary to put slightly more thought into these things. Planning is success in every scene.
There's so much Constantine lore, I can't even imagine how you would distill any sensible chunk of it into one movie...
What is a must-see?
Do you think they'll begin in the middle? I'd like that, just throw us into his world and let us cling to him, piecing it togethor as it all builds toward some kind of conflagration. Edgy, fast-paced. A taratino-esque comic-book movie. That would suit Constantine.
I loved him getting the angel's heart... I love him stalemating the devil.

HEy that would be sweet! But I found this 🙂

Synopsis: Based on the DC/Vertigo comic book Hellblazer and written by Kevin Brodbin, Mark Bomback and Frank Capello, the film tells the story of irreverent supernatural detective John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), who has literally been to hell and back. When Constantine teams up with skeptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister (also played by Weisz), their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Caught in a catastrophic series of otherworldy events, the two become inextricably involved and seek to find their own peace at whatever cost.

Maybe it's gonna be somewhere in the middle, maybe the intro won't be that long and hopefully the story will flow with the action.

Have u guys seen Blueberry?

No- in L.A.? No, no- its got to be Britain. NOOOOOOOO!

SCi Games Creating Constantine Video Game
Source: SCi Games Ltd.
Thursday, September 2, 2004

SCi Games Ltd., one of the UK's largest games publishers, has announced that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has awarded SCi Games the license to publish the forthcoming videogames for Constantine, which are being developed by Bits Studios and are based on the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film due in February 2005.

Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo Hellblazer graphic novels, the supernatural thriller Constantine tells the story of John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), a man who has literally been to hell and back. When he teams up with sceptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister, their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Caught in a catastrophic series of otherworldly events, the two become inextricably involved and seek to find their own peace at whatever cost.

Constantine the game is already well into development and will be released on Sony PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Xbox to coincide with the film release in 2005.

The first images from the game for the PS2 and Xbox can be found here http://gaming.monstersandcritics.com/archive/gamearchive.php?item_id=1337&action=images and here, http://gaming.monstersandcritics.com/archive/gamearchive.php?item_id=1338&action=images

the game looks neato....

I've seen the trailer, it looks promising, but so do all of them.

Sorry that is what I got from here:

The setting should reflect Constantine's soul- it should be old, have an established paranormal history, show a lot of blight and dissolution (well I suppose any urban situation will do that). L.A.? No, no, and not with any mystique. Palm trees! Flowers! Bah!
I can accept Reaves. Interview with a Vampire didn't suffer from Cruise. He was GOOD for that movie, and I never anticipated that.
I can't accept the fact that they've completely removed Constantine from his context. It doesn't sound like the same charactor, and it sounds like a buddy movie! Not exactly the cutting-edge, everything-is-a-shade-of-gray morality plays that I appreciate in Hellblazer.
I suppose I'll see it.

Have u seen the trailer? Maybe if u see it it will give u an idea of the colors invilved in the movie.
