True, in terms of characterisation and sheer ability to move (some time to happiness, some time to such disgust) Mieville is up there with the greats, such vivid worlds, such amazing concepts. I wish I had a near sword afterwards, he knows how to really grab you and drag you kicking and screaming to be remade into a fan (or some sort of steam engine.)
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson
Robert Neville is the last living man on earth ...but he is not alone. Every other man, woman and child on the planet has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood. I disagree. I love both of the miniseries, but especially the first one. I thought that they did an excellent job and were very faithful to the books. I actually own both and watch them all the time.
I was too negative in that post. I didn't dislike the Dune series, I just thought it didn't live up to my high expectations. Having watched the Earthsea trailers though, I think it will really be very good.
