Neither, and I have no respect for anyone who calls themselves a "democrat" or a "Republican". That suggests that you blindly agree with everything that party believes in, and you will blindly vote for anyone who is running for your party. Basically, you don't think for yourself. Yay.
No, it suggests that your views are mostly republican or democratic. It doesn't neccasserily mean that you are absolute and have no opinion or ability to judge.
I agree with BackFire in that I don't feel anyone should have a pre-determined belief in a party. It should be more about the issues each candidate backs...not which party they belong to.
I was a democrate through part of the 90's...and have turned Republican since..(based on my voting), but I would never consider myself one of the other. I just vote based on which candidates' views I agree upon most.
finti- there are other parties aside from Republican and Democrat, it's just most of the other parties lack financial resources and a large enough member base to be considered a worthy candidate.
When was the last time someone other than a Republican or Democrat won the presidential election anyways? Had to be before my time....

Agree with BackFire... I tend to agree with the Democrats more than the Republicans, but I don't like everything they say... Both parties have major flaws.
Basically it's a two party system. Way back when we were first getting started, we had whigs and federalists and some other parties, but since the turn of the century, I think there haven't been any presidents who weren't either Deomocratic or Republican.
