Best Game Music [merged]

The Legend Of Zelda is my fave. From the instrumental tunes (wind waker/ocarina tunes etc) to the actual environmental tunes (The song of storms inside the mill, the Zoras domain, the intro music, the epic Hyrule theme etc)

The ambience "music" , and the music parts from Ico are also very memorable for me.

Nobuo Uematsu's music is also excellent. "Otherworld" from Final Fantasy X (the blitzball intro scene) is incredible rock music and I wish he'd do more hard rock like this. I'd buy every one of his albums.

Uematsu was good, but now..I don't know. I've become ..bored with him somehow. Mostly because to me the melodies all sound the same. "Otherworld" from X was good. Very un-Uematsu like. As far as other soundtracks? Hm. The first Halo game had a good score. God of War was excellent. Rainbow Six III had a good score to it. Reminded me a lot of Gregson-Williams' stuff. Advent Rising's score was excellent, even though the game itself kind of blowed. Katamari Damacy's soundtrack is good. If you're into the whole J-Pop thing that is. Raiden's soundtrack had a good set of music to it. I dunno'. That's about it for me.

my favourite game music is ffX boss music. that was awsome 💃

Otherworld was very good, though I still prefer his more orchestral stuff.

Katamari's got great music, it's so cute and funny 😂 I adore that game.

I had mentioned Zelda : The Ocarina of Time in an earlier post, and to reiterate just how good the soundtrack to the CD is, I played it for my girlfriend, and she instantly fell in love with its beautiful rythyms. When she asked me what it was from, I told her it was from a video game. The point is she is such a staunch hater of video games, but she easily gave leeway to this soundtrack and instantly asked me to make a copy for her. I did and now she mentions it's her favorite thing to play as she's doing her college homework.

Also "American McG's Alice" has some very beautiful songs as well. I particularly enjoy "Pool of Tears".

i love final fantasy music, and music from ratchet and clank, and also, prince of persia has some nice music

I think that the music in the Kingdom Hearts series is some of the greatest orchestrated themes in game history. You can feel the emotion behind it, and lets face it, just listening to it can draw a tear.

Plus the 2 themes for both games, Sanctuary and Simple and Clean.

I just think the music is extremely well produced.

i think the chrono trigger game music was good. it is an old game, but the music is good even now.

I'll have to got with Ocarina of Time. The music is so addicting.

Legend of Zelda games always have such epic music, except maybe Wind Waker.
Soundtrack to the Sonic games is good (past and present).
Music for Sephiroth is Fantasic and chilling.

Today I was bored and was browsing game music on the net, and thought of Chrono Trigger and remembered liking the music.

Listened to every songe available, absolutely stunning music. On par, and beyond, much of the great Final Fantasy scores. Some songs I remembered and was able to hum along to instantly even though I hadn't played the game in nearly a decade.

I suggest everyone who enjoys FF music find some Chrono Trigger songs, they're beautiful.

Crush-40 do good work with the Sonic themes.

But Soul Caliburs music...oh god that stuff is awesome.

It's epic beyond words , really gives scope to how important the actual sword is to the whole world (even if it is evil and soul devouring)

Halo has one of the best theme tunes I've heard, but then Sephiroth's is right up there next to it, I love FF music, filled with drama, sadness, hate, excitement and more, its perfect to suit the mood of the moments.

I like Unreal's music, and a few other games, but the ones I just hgihlighted are my favourite.
