Kind of, but really it was a positive ending justSpoiler:Moving, but not sad 🙂
Donnie had to die to make everything right in the world.
i found it sad because it really shows how much insanity there is in this world. i dont mean mental insanity. i mean the stupidity of the things we worry about, the fads we get wrapped up in, we dont just stop and watch the sun come up.
Its just the reality of the sad place and the sad age we live in.

Hes ok in some pictures but i'm not one for sharp cut men... -shrugs-BUT I DID LOVE DONNIE DARKO... and I own the dvd and i love the song mad world and i love everything about all of that and through the whole movie I just wanted to give him a hug.. it just seemed like he needed a hug >.<!
I wouldnt call Jake sharp cut. He's a bit rough round the edges, without sounding like a tw'at.
The movie is beautiful and he was perfectly cast.

By sharp cut I mean his phyisical apperance. I think that he acts beautifully and that bubble boy.. being the type of slap-stick movie it was... wasnt that bad just because of his acting and the way he played off the whole "i'm innocent, i have no clue what you are talking about" thing.
