What truly distinguishes us?

As humans from other animals?

What do you think it is? Speech? Abstract thought? etc.

the key difference is our intelligence: we don't survive by survival of the fittest, we accept any offspring and try to bring out the best in them ✅

most animals will have (just say) 100 babies, of which only the 10 most adapted to survive will be the next generation

thats about it

Start from page 6, Alpha Centauri and I answer this question. http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=301407&perpage=20&highlight=free%20me&pagenumber=6

we're nothing special... just another animal with the tools for survival... only as distinct from a mouse as a lion is from a rhino....

but we're not 😛 we survive very differently to most other animals

humans are different from other animals because, as my geography teacher once explained, that we, instead of using brute force, or speed to defend ourselves from other animals, we use our mind and outsmart it.

you mean other than intelligence, well we do have the most complex brain, i believe, and of course that couldn't have came by chance 😉

try that in the evolution thread

tried it already, too many hethans on the boards 😂 j/k

or lack of proof on your side? 😱

schmoll nope evidence was there... for both sides, but the deductions were different 😛

What distinguishes us?

Pornography.......... seriously...............think about it.

both sides? wow, you must have missed the "post reply" button when you wrote that

I agree intelligence level is all that separates us. And do dolphins really have sex for pleasure?

you forgot about dolphins, but then again they'd be the only ANIMALS to have sex for pleasure, but what about monkeys?

there are two things the species of this rock stive upon. one is survival. the other, breeding. we are animal as animal can get. our distinguishing characteristics? opposable thumbs and cognitive thinking.

Irene, try and read "Les animaux dénaturés" by Vercors. It's interesting.
