Fake ideals, corrupt politicians, and the stupidest administration I've ever heard of. The "American Dream" is a funny load of crap. Don't worry, wait 20-100 years, and China will outdo us. 😄
BUT - I do like the people, and the original drive by which this country was founded. Why do we not strive for that now?

Now your wondering which country is that, well, is El Salvador and I have to say that aside all those imperfections, I love it 🙂

Scotland has a lot more going for it than you suggest !
In general the people are warm and welcoming and if you are prepared to talk to them they will talk to you. I am sure that every country has its flaws and it's failures but Scotland has more to make up for it's flaws than it has flaws.

I quite like it here – but well: I was born and raised here, and know the language and culture, and what to look for in the grocery store.
I won’t start with the raised arms-swelling hearts-conceited madness nationality. I live in this geographic region on Earth, this is the place I know, but I owe it no allegiance. Why should I?
So culture-chocks in smaller or greater degrees will never be enough for me to start going nationalistic over anything.
