Adrien Brody ("The Jacket," "King Kong"😉 will star in Truth, Justice and the American Way for Focus Features and director Allen Coulter, reports Variety. Written by Paul Bernbaum, it's a story about the man who portrayed TV's Superman, George Reeves.

Bernbaum's script details the investigation into Reeves' mysterious 1959 death in Hollywood, as well as the actor's complex relationship with the iconic role that propelled him to stardom. Brody will play the lead detective on the case.

The trade adds that Focus Features hopes to begin production early next year

It hasn't filmed yet. 😉

Sounds like an extended version from "Cold Case Files" or one of those TV shows. Don't remember which series it was on but they did the same story on him and they also did one on Robert Crane. Same basic concept on the George Reeves show. I suppose they have more material to extend from the one hour show and it will be less of a documentary (since some of the real people involved were on the show). I would be most interested to see it when the time comes for release. Should make for interesting and entertaining viewing, especially if there is something new to add. Thanks for the heads up.

Well I know its not a documentary.
