The Civil Contingencies Bill. As indigestible reading as a meal of polystyrene I know, but take a look at "Emergency Powers." This gives the government to ban protestations against their policy, cancel elections and political opposition.

umm... cancel elections. 😐

Hmm... Reminds me of the Patriot Act. After a little bit of each part, all it says is stuff like "A senior minister may take action if satisfied a) section 21 is satisfied and b)..." So it's almost impossible for the average citizen to get through... Scary stuff though.

Quite right, it's completely perverse; the only purpose of statesmen should be to serve us, not send the country into eternal night.
