Indeed, Yoda was not referred to as a General. Nor did Jedi deflect laser bolts with their hands so THAT old chestnut will still be debated.

If you didn't mean to say that, then you certainly left yourself open for misinterpretation in the thread SPOILER: Anakin's limbs, where in a dicussion about whether Vader used his armour or the Force to stop Han Solo's shots you said

"He deflects the bolts with the Force. You will see other Jedi do this in AOTC."

Yoda and Dooku could both do it. I think the lightning is proof enough that it can be done.

I am inclined to agree, but the debate is still not as conclusively closed as I would have liked.

Actually, I think they probably could. This is EU, but in the new Star Wars Empire comic book that the Official Site showed us, one of the pictures shows Vader battling stormtrooper traitors. He deflects a laser bolt with his hand in one box.
