Like I said before, it said to take it with:
A FIFTY POUND BAG OF SALT!
which means that it's farfetched, and doesn't make that much sense. Anything can sound official, but it's not official. Sony has no confirmation, but hints at a more complex character. Electro is by no means confirmed in Spider Man 3. I'll give you something that is confirmed though!

Electro, although powerful, hasn't had as much development as other villains. He's basically an all around nutcase with the power of a lightning storm, and he's bisexual. (found that out recently. Creepy.)
Hi, Marcus the Unpleasant:
Hate to burst your bubble, but Electro is in no way. shape or form "bisexual." Had you read the arc in question from which all this silly bullsh*t started, you would know that what happened is that Mark Millar is completely unable to go one complete arc without a homosexual reference in there somewheres. Maybe a couple! He -loves- that stuff.
This says far more about MILLAR than it does Electro, but I digress. Why a married man with a kid cannot keep homosexuality out of his head for longer than five minutes is for wiser minds than mine to ponder.... however, I would like you to point me to any given point in the books [BESIDES Millar making his stupid jokes, BESIDES your moronic defacing of Finch's artwork up there] in which it is shown that Electro is plainly bisexual. In fact, Electro has been married - to an actual woman, to cut off your next remark before you bother posting it.
Before you post something stupid in reply, I'd like to end with the warning that I have almost every single book Electro has ever been in, and I know quite a bit about him and his motivations. Plus I have a scanner.
Make your rebuttal a good one.
Wow. I made a joke, and you got mad. Yeah, that's what it was, a joke. As in not to be taken seriously. Well, people it get mad. It's part of life. However, like any of us, Millar wrote it, so now it's a part of the continuity. To be honest, if anything was an indication that Electro wasn't the straightest arrow, it's his costume. Also, he was dead scared of Kaine, thus his joining of Mysterio's Sinister Seven. There's a lot of crazy things that have happened in Marvel that we all wish weren't part of the continuity, but they are. Here's some examples:
Eddie Brock Dead
Carnage ripped in half BY THE SENTRY (grrrrr)
Gay Heroes and Villains
Cyclops and Emma Frost
Does anybody like these changes? More than likely not. Mark Millar and Brian Micheal Bendis doing anything with the 616 continuity usually biffs it. Although many don't like it, we have to live with it. Let's not forget something though: he visited a hooker in the issue where he said that "Prison brought out another side of him." I guess that means he might have an STD too. Ooops!
I've decided just to throw this one out there. In the realm of logic and understanding, people usually take an eyewitness account over a document with no origin. The best example of this would be a court of law. Eyewitness account takes merit over a document with no background anyday. The document that Miroku had shown had no background, and at the beginning of the document, it even stated that it was farfetched (thus the 50 pound bag of salt line). So, at this point, we have more merited of a statement that Topher Grace is playing Eddie Brock/Venom. This whole Electro babble came out of nowhere. Also, let's do a comparison of the two villains. I'll go ahead and give the pros and cons real quick.
Electro Pros:
Immensely powerful
Master of Electricity
Manipulation of Magnetic Fields
Electro Cons:
Not very bright
Venom Pros:
Spidey's Powers, but stronger
Mask himself from Spider-Sense
Chamelionic Abilities
Highly skilled in deductive reasoning and investigation due to his journalistic background
Olympic class strength amplified by the symbiote
Cons:
Weakness to fire and sonics
It's kinda obvious at this point that since you've already got one Spidey villain who isn't the brightest on the planet, they're not gonna put another one in there. It wouldn't make sense. Truth be told, I'm giving Raimi a lot more credit than I should with this series when I say these things. Anywho, Venom has also kicked Electro's arse horridly, and killed Sandman. He's a huge threat, and would make a great selling point for the movie. However, that's just my opinion. Raimi could go with Electro, or someone else, but we won't know yet. However, an eye witness account takes a much better merrit.
Now that I'm done, don't forget that the last person who put crap like the Electro thing with no proof or substantial backing for the story got the thread closed. I'm gonna ask the mods at one point to monitor those statements so nobody gets fed any more crap.
Marcus, get a life! Just because people want to share articles thet MIGHT BE TRUE but you don't like the charcater they concern (this seems to be with your denial of homophobia, or perhaps actual homosexuality in insulting anything possibly gay) then you threaten to complain to moderators! You've been acting like a 6 year old for ages, so just grow up! Your commentso display a narrow minded homophobic CHILD rather than a mature and understanding person of EQUALITY!

The whole bisexual thing was a joke. As in not serious. In fact, your inability to take a joke shows your closemindedness and immaturity, so I don't even know where you get the grounds to start chewing me out. Electro is a bisexual. I think it's funny. However, the whole argument was about continuity and truthfulness. I had a similar discussion with Mr. Parker a few weeks back, and it had the same result. He had a hard time accepting that Gwen Stacy had twins with Norman Osbourne. Sins Past was a great storyline, but he didn't like it. Too bad though, becuase it's part of the continuity. Just because a story is bad in the Marvel Universe doesn't mean that it's not part of the continuity. Your opinion is that I'm homophobic. Truth be known, I'm not. I just joke about it because I find life funny lots of times, and enjoy what I find ironic. If you don't find it funny, that's fine. However, don't try to goad me into arguments. If you don't agree, send me a pm, not a load of BS on the forums.
